New DIAS infrared camera series "protection" for industrial applications

For non-contact temperature measurements in harsh industrial environments, the new and now available DIAS infrared camera series "protection" is appropriated. The cameras have a robust stainless steel IP65 housing with integrated air purge, water cooling and optional protective window. With water cooling, the cameras can be used at ambient temperatures from -25 °C to 150 °C. The standard motor focus simplifies focusing of the lens. For temperature measurement from -20 ° C to 1250 ° C in the spectral ranges 8 microns to 14 microns, 3 microns to 5 microns, 4.8 microns to 5.2 microns and 3.9 microns for example the microbolomter based infrared cameras PYROVIEW 380 protection are available. Also the fast DIAS infrared line cameras to measure temperature profiles between 0 °C and 1300 °C in different spectral ranges are part of the new camera series (128 PYROLINE protection and PYROLINE 256 protection).

As with all DIAS infrared cameras an Ethernet output for safe and reliable online data transmission is available. Integration into system solutions with multiple cameras is easy. In addition to the Ethernet online output the cameras have two isolated digital inputs (trigger) and two isolated outputs (alarm). A stand-alone operation without computer connection is also possible.

Pyroelectric sensor arrays easily evaluated with the evaluation kit

DIAS Infrared GmbH produces high sensitive infrared detectors for many years. While detectors with one to four spectral channels in TO can housing has been dominating recently, now applications for linear arrays with more than 128 pixels are upcoming. For spectrometry application DIAS Infrared GmbH has developed the types 128LTx SP0.5, 128LTx SP1.0, 256LTI SP0.5 and 510LTI SP0.5 which have longer sensitive elements. Common narrow and wide band-pass filters can be used as well as linear variable filters.

Now, an evaluation kit has been introduced, which contains all you need for easy operation of these linear arrays – a small board with complete electronics and a software package. The kit can be controlled by a Windows PC via USB connection. The power can be provided by the USB port or a separate power supply. For syncronisation with further external components, such as for radiation modulation, a trigger pulse is provided. The read-out cycle can be adjusted between 1 and 80 lines/s.

New stationary infrared camera PYROVIEW 380L compact+ with motor focus

Under the new DIAS infrared camera series "compact+" now also PYROVIEW camera with 384 x 288 pixels is available. The PYROVIEW 380L compact+ allows non-contact temperature measurements in the range from -20 °C to 500 °C in the spectral range of 8 microns to 14 microns. Lenses with different angles allow for easy adaptation to the space at the site. A default installation of the motor focus facilitated the focus of the lens. It's just important for many applications in the field of industrial process technology, where often a manual setup of optics is difficult or even impossible. The devices are suitable for continuous industrial use. The particularly compact camera housing allows installation in space-saving weather protection and industry housings, in conjunction with pan-tilt heads.

The Fast Ethernet output allows secure and reliable data transfer. The online data is transmitted at a rate of up to 50 frames per second. Integration into system solutions with multiple cameras is easy. In addition to the Ethernet online output, the camera has two isolated digital inputs (trigger) and two isolated outputs (alarm). A stand-alone operation without computer connection is also possible. Applications of infrared cameras PYROVIEW 380L compact+ include process control and monitoring, quality control, fire detection and measurements in research and development.

DIAS Infrared GmbH with constant growth

DIAS Infrared GmbH with constant growth

For DIAS the past fiscal year was very well thanks to many new products and further dismounted distribution system. We offer to our customers a very wide range of products for non-contact temperature measurement: pyrometers PYROSPOT, infrared cameras PYROVIEW and PYROLINE, black bodys PYROTHERM, infrared detectors PYROSENS and complete system solutions. Alle our prodcuts are made in Germany. At DIAS our customers get everything from one source: development, manufacturing, sales and service, which makes the use and handling of infrared technology as simple as possible for our customers.

For the continuous successful implementation of our growth strategy, DIAS has also steadily increased staffing. We are especially pleased that we were able to acquire an employee, who has a long time experience in pyrometer market and infrared systems business. During his tenure at IMPAC Systems, Dr. Christian Schiewe has already used DIAS Infrared camera system solutions in the steel industry. He has very good knowledge in automation and process technology and has developed and successfully implemented many customized solutions including custom software.

DIAS pyrometers can be directly integrated into automation system solutions thanks to Modbus RTU

DIAS pyrometers can be directly integrated into automation system solutions thanks to Modbus RTU

Using DIAS pyrometers of series PYROSPOT, our customers have a variety of different types of modern digital radiation thermometers for non-contact temperature measurement in industrial processes. Besides the proven outputs 0/4 to 20 mA the PYROSPOT series 10,11,34 and 44 have a digital RS-485 interface, which supports the Modbus RTU protocol. In the industrial communications, the Modbus protocol has become a de facto standard, as it is an open, royalty-free protocol is, which was developed in 1979 by Gould-Modicon for communication with its programmable logic controllers. Thanks to its easy handling and implementation, it is used by many manufacturers in the industrial environment. Via Modbus a master, eg a PC or PLC and several slaves are linked, eg pyrometer. The implementation of the Modbus interface allows our clients also a cost-effective connectivity to all existing fieldbuses (eg Profibus, EtherCAT or Profinet and other) with simple gateway.
