Highly sensitive pyroelectric detectors– ideal for spectroscopy and gas analysis

DIAS Infrared is known as a manufacturer of high quality pyroelectric infrared detectors for years. The sensors are manufactured without exception in Dresden, where the company is headquartered. The high detectivity sensors and linear sensor arrays can be used for applications in spectroscopy and gas analysis.

The PYROSENS-series of linear arrays with 128, 256 or 510 arranged in a row pixelshas been expanded by versions with higher sensitivity by a factor of 16. These arrayshave been developed in combination with linear variable filters specifically for themeasurement of small radiation powers in compact spectroscopic measurement systems.

For all linear PYROSENS arrays there’s an evaluation kit available, that allwos the user to easily operate the DIAS arrays on an USB port at a Windows PC. A new software allows in addition to the synchronization with further components, e.g. for radiation modulation and the choice of the readout speed between 1 and 80 lines per second, also storaging the measurement data for later analysis.

Recently, new thermally-compensated sensors are made that are less sensitive to ambient temperature variations. With the 2LTA G2PC DIAS Infrared GmbH has a thermally compensated 2-channel sensor in the TO-39 housing with an area of 2 x 2 mm in the manufacturing program. The ion beam etched maximum detectivity sensors LTI Q2PC and LTSI Q2PC are also available as a thermally compensated variant. All of these sensors are provided for use in the spectral range above 1.3 microns.

After completing the development work from now on the types LTA G3 and LTA G3PC in TO-39 housing as well as the LTA G8 in TO-8 housing also sensors with larger areas of 3 x 3 mm² and 8 x 8 mm² of the radiation-sensitive surface are manufactured in series.
