An example for a temperature measurement system in a foundry is the DIAS system solution PYROCAST.

The casting stream measurement system PYROCAST consists of digital ratio pyrometers, a display and evaluation unit and parameterizable software.

The system can include an infrared pyrometer with fiber optic and special optics (PYROCAST) or an infrared thermometer with integrated video camera and special rectangular measurement spot (PYROCAST Pro). Both pyrometers provide an exact temperature measurement even when the measurement spot is not filled completely or when the casting stream is moving.
